Latvian tourist becomes 54th COVID-19 patie in VN

VGP - The Ministry of Health has confirmed that a Latvian man tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) bringing total infection cases in Viet Nam to 54.

The latest patient and his wife were on the same flight TK162 from Spain to Viet Nam on March 8.

The pair stayed in Phu Quoc island from March 9-13 and then flew back to Ho Chi Minh City.

On March 14, he got fever and went to Ho Chi Minh City Hospital for Tropical Diseases for medical checks and was confirmed having the virus later the same day.

Of the total infection cases reported in Viet Nam so far, 16 had been cleared of the virus and discharged from hospitals while the rest have been confirmed since March 6./.
