One more COVID-19 patient discharged from hospital after full recovery

VGP - A 27-year-old male patient, the 18th case of coronavirus infection in Viet Nam, was cleared of the virus and allowed to go home on March 20.

The patient is a student returning from Daegu, one of the Covid-19 epicenters in South Korea, on March 4 and admitted to hospital in Ninh Binh province on March 7.

Chu Thi Giang, deputy director of Ninh Binh provincial General Hospital, said the patient has since tested negative for the virus three times on March 14, March 16, and March 18.

Pham Van Hiep, director of the hospital, said the patient did not have a fever or cough for several days before the discharge.

He could not hide his joy: "The treatment during the 12 days since the patient was admitted to hospital involved the effort and hard work of all doctors and nurses here."

The patient sent his sincere thanks to medical staff working at Ninh Binh provincial General Hospital who worked to cure him.

He will now move to his home where he will be quarantined for a further 14 days as required.

This is the 17th COVID-19 patient discharged from hospital in Viet Nam so far. All the current patients have been confirmed since March 6./.
