Hang made the above remarks in response to reporters’ query regarding Viet Nam’s reaction to the live-fire drill, at a press briefing on Thursday.

Viet Nam demands Taiwan not repeat such illegal activity and other violations in the future, she said.

The Spokesperson reaffirmed that Viet Nam has sufficient legal grounds and historical evidence testifying its sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos in accordance with international law.

Taiwan has repeatedly conducted live-fire drills around the Ba Binh island, which seriously infringe upon Viet Nam’s territorial sovereignty over the Southeast Asian nation’s Spratly, threatening peace, stability, maritime safety and security, causing tensions and complicating the situation in the East Sea, Hang said./.
