No new community infection of COVID-19 over past 25 consecutive days

VGP – Viet Nam has gone 25 days without new community infection of COVID-19, the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control said Monday morning.

Out of 288 patients confirmed so far, 148 are imported cases who were quarantined upon arrival.

Of the total figure, 241 patients have recovered while the rest are being treated at six medical facilities nationwide.

The current active cases include six patients tested negative once and 14 others tested negative twice or more.

The sickest case is British pilot, known as patient 91, is being treated at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases in HCMC

On May 10, doctors from top hospitals in Viet Nam held a telemedicine conference to discuss a lung transplant for the patient. They proposed moving him to Cho Ray Hospital for intensive care and lung transplant consideration.

At present, 25,361 people are being quarantined, of whom 373 at hospitals, 11,181 at centralized quarantine camps, 13,807 at places of residence./.
