One more patient cleared of COVID-19, recoveries account for 82%

The latest recovered patient (patient numbered 149), who has been treated at field hospital No.2 in the northern province of Quang Ninh, will be isolated and medically monitored in the next 14 days.

As of Saturday morning, the total number of COVID-19 patients in Viet Nam remained unchanged at 324, including 148 imported cases who were quarantined immediately upon arrivals.

The committee also said the nation has gone 37 days without new COVID-19 infection case in the community.   

At present, 57 COVID-19 patients have been treated at nine medical facilities nationwide, mainly at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Dong Anh District, Ha Noi (25 cases), Bac Lieu General Hospital (17 cases) and Thai Binh General Hospital (6 cases).

Six of them have been tested negative for the virus for the first time while three have been negative twice. The sickest patient is British national, who is a Viet Nam Airline pilot.

He was moved to Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City on May 22 for a possible lung transplant. Currently, he has no fever and has been tested negative for the coronavirus six times in a row.

However, he has been dependent on a life support machine called Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) over the past 46 days.

In addition, as many as 14,744 people are being quarantined, of whom 266 at hospitals, 7,726 at centralized quarantine camps, 6,752 at places of residence./.
