The project, invested by Trung Nam Group, features the construction of a 450MW solar power plant, together with a 220/500kV substation and 17 km of 500kV and 220kV transmission lines, stretching from Phuoc Minh commune (Thuan Nam district, Ninh Thuan province) to Vinh Tan commune (Tuy Phong district, Binh Thuan province).

Chairman of the Ninh Thuan provincial People’s Committee, Luu Xuan Vinh, said that the project contributes to realizing the Government’s Resolution No. 115/NQ-CP on developing Ninh Thuan into a renewable energy center of the country, and grasping the Politburo’s Resolution No. 55-NQ/TW on accelerating renewable energy development and encouraging the private sector to involve in energy development and the construction of transmission infrastructure.

The investor, Trung Nam Group, and 22 contractors have signed a commitment to promptly implement and ensure the progress of the project.

Once completed, the Thuan Nam solar power plant will not only add more than one billion KWh of electricity to the system each year, but also facilitate the development of renewable energy to replace other non-renewable sources and especially protect the environment.

General Director of Trung Nam Group, Nguyen Tam Tien, stated that in order to ensure the project is finalized and connected to the national grid in the next nine months, more than 5,000 employees of Trung Nam Group will work with great determination and make every effort to complete the project on schedule.

Currently, Ninh Thuan has put 1,600 MW of solar farms into operation and 150 MW of wind power into commercial exploitation. The province is targeting to reach a capacity of 2,000 MW of solar power by the end of this year./.
