VN goes 43 days without new COVID-19 community infection

VGP – Today marks the 43 consecutive days without new COVID-19 community infection in Viet Nam, the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

The country’s patient tally remained unchanged at 327, including 187 imported cases who were quarantined immediately upon arrivals.

As many as 279 patients have been cleared of the virus and the current active cases are being treated at nine central and provincial hospitals, with 19 at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh District and 13 at the General Hospital in the Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu, the committee said.

The nation is monitoring health of 7,870 people who have been in close contact with the COVID-19 patients or returned from the pandemic-striken areas.

Viet Nam has pushed back the pandemic thanks to early and drastic efforts hailed by the global community, allowing the the country to restarted the economy but door to foreign tourists remains shut due to complicated developments of the pandemic across the world./.
