Addressing the Cabinet meeting Tuesday, the Government chief ordered every sector and level to roll out concrete and more drastic measures to ensure roboust economic recovery with an aim to realize the growth goals as highest as possible.

Viet Nam has gone 47 days without new COVID-19 community infection though more than 4684 citizens have been repatriated from abroad while the economy has recovered quickly as evidenced by growth of industrial production (11.2%) and total retail sales of goods and services (26.9%) in May.

The Economist listed Viet Nam as the 12th strongest among 66 emerging economies in its report on financial strength in the wake of the COVID-19 fallout, which indicated the country’s rising prestige on the international arena.

Phuc, however, warned that inferior levels, especially front line forces, are not allowed to be subjective in the face of ongoing complicated evolution of the pandemic across the world and the nation is encountering challenges such as disruptive supply chain, adverse weather conditions, and inflation pressure, and slow disbursement of public investment capital.

All levels and sectors were urged to implement the Government’s newly-issed Resolution No. 84/NQ-CP concerning tasks and solutions to continue removing difficulties for production and business activities, accelerating the disbursement of public investment, and ensuring social order and safety to maintain economic growth momentum.

He also asked for accelerating digital economy, e-government and e-payment development and soon completing a legal framework for new tech-based business models./.
