Copper Mountain Energy JSC, Hwaseung Vina LLC present medical supplies to Vietnamese in RoK

VGP - The State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (SCOV) on Tuesday morning held medical supplies handover ceremony from Copper Mountain Energy JSC and Hwaseung Vina LLC to Vietnamese community in the Republic of Korea.

Present at the ceremony were H.E Mr. Nguyen Hoanh Nam, Ambassador, Vice Chairman of the SCOV; H.E Mr. Pham Tien Van, Ambassador, Vice-President of Korea-Viet Nam friendship association; Mr. Lee Jae Kook, Consul of Embassy of the Republic of Korea; CEO of Copper Mountain Energy; Administration and Personnel Manager of Hwaseung Vina LLC as well as many Korean and Vietnamese news agencies.

Speaking at the ceremony, Bui Trung Kien - Chief President of Copper Mountain Energy (a company in the renewable energy industry working toward sustainable growth) said: “Seeing the difficulties that Korean citizens as well as the Vietnamese community living in Korea are facing as Covid-19 has the possibility of striking a second time, CME and HSV have joined force to donate 25.000 face masks to the Vietnamese community in Korea with the hope that everyone will remain safe during this difficult time.”

Hwaseung Vina LLC’s Executive Board shared: “This is a time in which every amount of support is crucial. Covid-19 is a global pandemic. This pandemic knows no borders and does not discriminate among nations. To defeat it, we must cooperate and support one another.” Focused on producing active footwear and components for athletic shoes and sandals, this company has created 26,500 jobs in Vietnam’s 6 big industrial hubs (in Dong Nai, Kien Giang, Vung Tau).

Hwaseung Vina LLC also invests in Viet Nam’s healthcare industry and social security through practical social projects such as funding the installation of solar panels and water filtration systems, as well as giving scholarships at some elementary schools in Rach Gia district, Kien Giang province.

On behalf of the SCOV and Vietnamese community in Korea, Nam highly appreciated the donation of CME and Hwaseung Vina LLC. This donation shows two companies’ great kindness and is meaningful to Overseas Vietnamese in the peak period of Covid-19. This difficult time helps us to be aware of the social responsibility, contribution by enterprises in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic, which can be seen in their donations to the Party and the State, people, including overseas Vietnamese. This reaffirms overseas Vietnamese is an indispensable part of our country.

Recently, following the call of General Secretary, President Nguyen Phu Trong; the program on "Mobilising all people to support the fight against COVID-19” called by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and launched by Viet Nam Fatherland Front in March 17th 2020, overseas Vietnamese all over the world made donations with the total amount of more than VND 34 billion along with many in-kinds, medical supplies for the fight against Covid-19 in Viet Nam. Vietnamese community in Korea donated more than VND 160 million, which was handed to Viet Nam Father Front.

Besides, many companies, organisations and individual made donations to overseas Vietnamese in many countries such as UK, France, Russia, US,… This proves the solidarity and close relationship between Vietnamese at home and abroad, as well as the great kindness of many people in the current fight against the pandemic.
