VN Airlines to launch more new domestic routes in June to stimulate domestic tourism

VGP - The national flag carrier, Viet Nam Airlines, will open eight new domestic routes in June, 2020 in a bid to meet rising travel demand as the country has successfully contained the COVID-19 pandemic.

Accordingly, the Hai Phong-Da Lat and Hai Phong-Phu Quoc routes will take to the skies on June 12 with a frequency of four round-trip flights a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

The Hai Phong-Can Tho, Hai Phong-Buon Ma Thuot, and Vinh-Can Tho routes will open on the same day, with three round-trip flights every week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Four round-trip flights will be conducted each week on the Can Tho-Buon Ma Thuot route, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, starting from June 22.

The two new routes connecting Vinh city in the central province of Nghe An with Phu Quoc Island in the southern province of Kien Giang and Nha Trang city in central Khanh Hoa province.

There will be four round-trip flights between Vinh and Phu Quoc every week on Mondays, Wednesday, Fridays and Sundays, starting from June 12. Meanwhile, three round-trip flights will be conducted each week on the Vinh-Nha Trang route on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, from June 22.

The new routes are expected to meet the increasing travel demands during this summer holidays and contribute to promoting domestic tourism in the post-COVID-19 period.

Earlier in May, Viet Nam Airlines also opened five new domestic routes in May: HCM City-Tuy Hoa, Hai Phong-Nha Trang, Vinh-Da Lat, Vinh-Buon Ma Thuot, and Thanh Hoa-Buon Ma Thuot.

Viet Nam Airlines has launched 13 new domestic routes, including the two above-said ones, in May and June, raising its total domestic routes to 54.

The carrier has fully recovered all of its domestic routes with about 300 flights every day.
