No new COVID-19 community infection over last 58 days, recovery rate rises to 97%

VGP – Viet Nam has gone 58 days without any new COVID-19 infection case in the community, the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control said Saturday morning.

Among 333 COVID-19 patients in Viet Nam, 193 are imported cases quarantined immediately upon their arrivals.

A total number of 6,475 people, who have been in close contact with COVID-19 patients or come from the pandemic-stricken areas are under quarantine in the nation, including 136 at hospitals, 5,478 at centralized quarantine facilities, and 861 at places of residence.

Earlier on June 12, the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi's Dong Anh District said two more COVID-19 patients were cleared of the virus, raising the country's recovery rate to 323, making up 97%.

Both of them returned from overseas and were isolated upon their arrivals. Patient 297 is a 30-year-old man in Le Chan, Hai Phong City, hospitalized on May 18. Patient 298 is a 29-year-old man in Vu Thu, Thai Binh Province, hospitalized on May 17.

They will be isolated and medically monitored in the next 14 days.

The current 10 patients are being treated at six medical establishments nationwide with stable health conditions, of whom three were tested negative for the virus once, one tested negative at least twice./.
