VN works on re-opening flights with Japan, RoK, and China

VGP – Viet Nam is discussing with China, the Republic of Korea, and Japan the re-connecting of flights as the country has initially controlled the pandemic at home, said Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang.

Spokesperson Hang made the point on June 18 in response to reporters’ inquiries about the possibility of Viet Nam’s resumption of flights with other countries.

According to Ms. Hang, Japan, the Rok, and China are big economic partners of Viet Nam. There are a large number of Vietnamese guest workers in these countries.

In the short term, Viet Nam has created favorable ways for experts and managers from these countries to return to work in Viet Nam. Vietnamese interns and guest workers also enjoy preferences to travel to these countries.

Earlier, Japan plans to ease its coronavirus travel restrictions by letting in up to around 250 business travelers per day from Australia, New Zealand, Thailand and Viet Nam, government sources said Thursday. The quota, which aims to introduce this summer, will initially apply to businesspeople such as executives and engineers, the sources said, adding that the government task force on the virus response is expected to finalize the details of the plan soon./.
