VN goes 71 days without COVID-19 community infection

VGP – Viet Nam entered the 71st day without confirming new COVID-19 infection case in the community, said the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control on Friday morning.

Among 352 COVID-19 patients in the country, 329 have been cleared of the virus, making up 93.5%.

The patient tally includes 212 imported cases immediately quarantined upon their arrivals.

The British pilot (patient numbered 91), who is being treated at Cho Ray Hospital, has been disconnected from ventilator for 14 days with normal indicators, good recovery and better psychology.

The current 23 COVID-19 patients are under treatment at medical establishments nationwide with their health reportedly in stable conditions.

Of the current active cases, one has tested negative for the virus once and three have tested negative for the coronavirus at least twice.

A total of 6,889 people in close contact with infected people or returning from pandemic-hit countries are under medical surveillance, including 117 at hospitals, 6,062 at designated facilities, and 710 places of residence./.
