These passengers onboard the flight included children, the elderly, patients with chronic diseases, pregnant women and workers with expired visas and labor contracts.

They came from France and other countries in the EU.

After landing at Van Don airport, all the passengers and crew members underwent health check-ups and were quarantined in line with the country's current regulations.

This is the 32nd repatriation flight arranged since April 24, transporting about 7,850 passengers from foreign countries and territories, official data showed.

As the pandemic has been put under control in Viet Nam, the Government tasked the competent authorities to increase the frequency of special citizen repatriation flights in the time to come.

According to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, among 355 COVID-19 cases confirmed in Viet Nam to date, 215 are imported ones and were quarantined upon their arrival in the country, posing no risk of transmission in the community. The country has undergone 74 days in a row without new local transmissions./.
