Nearly 96% of patients cleared of COVID-19

VGP – As of early July 6, 340 out of 355 patients in Viet Nam have been cleared of COVID-19, accounting for 95.8% of the patient tally, according to the National Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

Today marks the 81st day without any new community infection, said the committee. 

Of the patient tally, 215 are imported cases immediately quarantined upon their arrivals.

At present, 12,291 people, who have been in close contact with COVID-19 patients or come from the pandemic-stricken areas, are under medical surveillance, including 120 at hospitals, 11,754 at centralized quarantine facilities, and 417 at places of residence.

The current patients are being treated at health facilities nationwide and most of them are in stable condition, of whom three have tested negative for COVID-19 once and four others tested negative at least twice.

Regarding the British pilot (patient numbered 91), he is still in rehabilitation process following his recovery from the virus in Ho Chi Minh City-based Cho Ray Hospital.

The patient is expected to leave Viet Nam for the UK on July 12./.
