More than 13,000 people are under medical surveillance to prevent COVID-19 transmission

VGP - As many as 13,322 people are under medical surveillance in Viet Nam in a bid to prevent community transmission of COVID-19, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

The total include 95 at hospitals, 12,807 at centralized quarantine camps and 420 at places of residence, said the committee.

The patient tally remained unchanged at 369 as of this morning, of whom 347 have been cleared of the virus, accounting for 94%.

Regarding the British pilot, who was one of the sickest COVID-19 patients in Viet Nam, has undergone 113 days of treatment at the Ho Chi Minh City Hospital for Tropical Diseases and Cho Ray Hospital.

According to a joint plan agreed by the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UK Embassy in Ha Noi, the British patient will return to the UK on July 12.

The current 22 active cases are being treated at five medical facilities across the nation.
