More than 340 citizens fly home from the US

VGP – A Viet Nam Airlines flight carrying 346 citizens from the US landed at Noi Bai International Airport on July 9, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The passengers include children under the age of 18, pregnant women, students who have completed courses and businessmen.

Precautionary measures were implemented throughout the flight and all passengers were medically checked and quarantined upon arrival.

This is the 38 repatriation flight arranged by Vietnamese competent authorities in collaboration with overseas representative offices and domestic and foreign airlines since April, bringing home 10,416 Vietnamese citizens stranded abroad due to COVID-19.

As of Friday morning, Viet Nam confirmed 369 COVID-19 patients, including 229 imported cases.

Of the patient tally, 347 have been cleared of the virus, said the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

The country has gone 85 consecutive days without new COVID-19 community infection, the committee added./.
