Two more imported COVID-19 cases confirmed, VN goes 100 days without community infections

VGP – Two Vietnamese citizens returning from Russia have been confirmed the latest COVID-19 cases in Viet Nam, raising the patient tally to 415, the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control reported Saturday morning.

Both of them were among passengers onboard the flight VN5062 that landed at Van Don International Aiport in Quang Ninh Province on July 17.

They were taken to a centralized quarantine facility in Ninh Binh Province upon arrival.

One of them is a 34-year old man (patient 414) from Kien Thuy District, Hai Phong City and the other is a 25-year old man (patient 415) from Viet Yen District, Bac Giang Province

The pair first tested negative for the virus on July 17 by the Ninh Binh Center for Disease Control but they were confirmed having the virus four days latter by the Ninh Binh General Hospital.

They are being treated at a general hospital in Ninh Binh’s Hoa Lu District.

With these patients, the number of imported cases rose to 275 while the number of recoveries stood at 365 as of 6:00 am on Saturday.

Today marked the 100th day Viet Nam has gone without community-transmitted case of COVID-19./.
