Specifically, the Chinese General Administration of Customs on July 27 granted the code to the Saigon Dairy Factory under the Viet Nam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk), allowing the plant to export flavored fermented milk to the Chinese market.

So far, Chinese authorities have permitted five companies and factories of Viet Nam to sell dairy products to China, including TH True Milk (with sterilised and modified milk), Hanoimilk (fermented milk), Bel Vietnam (cheese), Thong Nhat Dairy Factory (condensed milk), and Saigon Dairy Factory (flavored fermented milk).

The increasing number of Vietnamese dairy businesses eligible for exports of milk to the Chinese market marks the expectation of growth in milk exports through official channels in the near future.

So far, Chinese authorities have permitted five companies and factories of Vietnam to sell dairy products to China.

This is also a great opportunity for Viet Nam’s dairy farming, production and processing industry to further develop.

China currently remains the no. 1 milk importer in the world. In 2019, China imported 39.43 million tons of milk and milk products, including about 750,000 tons of fresh milk and around 650,000 tons of milk powder.

The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization predicts that the Chinese market’s demand for milk and milk products will keep growing, at a rate of about 45% by 2025./.
