VN reports three more Coronavirus-related deaths

VGP – The Ministry of Health on Sunday reported that three Covid-19 patients passed away, raising the fatality tally to six.

They are patients numbered 524, 475, and 429.

Patient 524 is a 86-year old woman living in the central province of Quang Nam.

With chronic diseases of heart and kidney failure, she was admitted to the Da Nang Dermato-Venereology on July 11 where she was diagnosed to have suffered shingles and then taken to the Emergency Department of the Da Nang General Hospital on July 16.

On July 18, she got fever and was sent to Binh An General Hospital.

On July 27, the patient was taken to a General Hospital in Quang Nam Province.

On July 31, she was transferred to Hue Central Hospital for treatment. She tested positive for Covid-19 on the same day.

At around 6:00 pm on Saturday, she fell into a coma and passed away at 5:30 am on August 2.

Her causes of death included septic shock, acute respiratory failure, multiple organ failure and Covid-19, said Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Truong Son.

Patient 475 is a 83-year old resident of Da Nang. She was admitted to the Da Nang General Hospital on July 12.

On July 12, she got colic and diarrhea and was admitted to the Da Nang General Hospital.

On July 17, she developed fever symptom and tested positive for Covid-19 on July 30.

She died at 5:45 am on August 2.

Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Truong Son said her causes of death included acute coronary syndrome, cholecystitis, osteoarthritis, hypertension and Covid-19.

Patient 429 is a 53-year old woman who had suffered heart and kidney failure and type 2 diabetes.

She received treatment at the Da Nang General Hospital from July 19-30.

After being confirmed positive for Covid-19 on July 27, she was transferred from the Nephrology Department to Tropical Medicine Department.

At 1:00 am on August 1, she suffered shortness of breath and respiratory failure since 12:30.

At 9:00 am on August 2, doctors had to filter her blood and put her on a ventilator.

She was pronounced dead at around 4:30pm the same day.

Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Truong Son said her cause of death included acute heart and kidney failure, myocardial infarction, type 2 diabetes, and Covid-19.

Earlier on July 31 and August 1, the Ministry of Health confirmed three deaths related to Covid-19. They are patients numbered 499, 437, and 428./.
