Over 260 Vietnamese citizens in UAE fly home

VGP – A Bamboo Airways flight brought home over 260 Vietnamese citizens from the UAE on August 10, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The onboard citizens included under-18-year-old children, the elderly, sick people, laborers having expired contracts, and people facing other difficulties.   

The Vietnamese Embassy in the UAE sent officials to support the citizens at the airport.

Right after landing on Can Tho International Airport, all passengers and crew members received health checks and were sent to quarantine areas.

As part of efforts to prevent COVID-19 pandemic from spreading, safety and hygiene measures were strictly implemented throughout the flight.

This is the 88th rescue flight arranged since April 10, bringing home 21,965 nationals stranded abroad due to Covid-19.

So far, Viet Nam has confirmed 841 Covid-19 infection cases, including 399 recoveries and 13 deaths./.
