The Government chief cited a recent survey by the CPVCC Commission for Propagation and Education saying that 97% respondents voiced support for the Government’s containment measures.

As of Thursday morning, Viet Nam had 1,034 COVID-19 cases, including 632 recoveries and 30 deaths.

The country has conducted 517,138 RT-PCR tests since July 25 when the third phase of COVID-19 fight began, according to the Ministry of Health.

There are 71 establishments capable of providing confirmatory tests for COVID-19 with total capacity of 34,000 samples daily, added the ministry.

Despite positive containment outcomes, the ministry still warned of the risk of community infections as around 60% of the patients are asymptomatic, thus all agencies, factories and citizens should continue to stay vigilant and follow preventive measures, including wearing facemask when staying outdoors and avoiding crowded events.

The risk could be more serious in the winter and spring seasons, said the ministry.
