VN confirms two new COVD-19 cases, patient tally reaches 1,036

VGP – The National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control confirmed two new COVID-19 cases, taking the country’s patient tally to 1,036.

The latest patients include one in Da Nang and the other returned home from Chinese Taipei.

Specifically, patient 1,035 is a 34-year old woman from Nam Sach District, Hai Duong Province.

She took flight VJ2849 from Taiwan to Cam Ranh airport in the central province of Khanh Hoa on August 7 and was sent to a centralized quarantine facility in the locality.

The woman tested negative twice before being confirmed infected with the virus on the third test.

She is being isolated and treated at Khanh Hoa’s Cam Lam Medical Center.

Patient 1,036 is a 52-year old man from Hoa An Ward, Cam Le District, Da Nang.

He came in contact with COVID-19 patients numbered 1,025, 1,027, and 1,029.

The man is being isolated and treated at the city’s Hoa Vang field hospital.

Of the country’s total, 688 are locally-transmitted cases, including 548 linked to the COVID-19 hot spot in the central city of Da Nang./.
