More than 570 citizens fly home, total repatriated citizens reach 31,608

VGP – A VietJet Air flight carrying 230 citizens from Chinese Taipei landed at Can Tho International Airport on Saturday, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Passengers included the elderly, pregnant women, workers with expired labor contracts, tourists and other disadvantaged cases.

On Friday, more than 340 citizens were brought home from Australia, New Zealand, and Tonga.

So far, Viet Nam has organized 111 rescue flights to repatriate 31,608 citizens stranded abroad due to COVID-19.

More flights are set to be arranged in the time ahead to repatriate Vietnamese citizens with disadvantaged circumstances, depending on their need and domestic quarantine capacity./.
