Nearly 350 Vietnamese nationals fly home from US

VGP - Nearly 350 Vietnamese citizens have flown home safely from the U.S. on Monday on a rescue flight of the national flag carrier Viet Nam Airlines, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The passengers included children under 18 years old, the elderly, the sick, stranded tourists, students who have finished their courses, and other disadvantaged cases.

Security, safety and disease prevention measures were seriously carried out during the flight.

Right after landing at Van Don International Airport in the northern province of Quang Ninh, all the passengers received check-ups and were sent to concentrated quarantine sites in line with current regulations on COVID-19 responses.

So far, Viet Nam has conducted 1115 rescue flights to repatriate 33,058 citizens stranded abroad due to COVID-19./.
