Addressing a meeting on COVID-19 response on September 11, Phuc tasked the Ministry of Transport to coordinate with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to deliberate on issues related to the resumption of international commercial flights.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Transport were urged to consider increasing the frequency of flights to countries which are not COVID-19 epicenters, in order to bring citizens home and investors, experts and managers back to Viet Nam, he stated.

The Government chief also urged ministries, sectors and agencies to continue fully implementing disease prevention and control measures in the new normal in line with the Ministry of Health’s instructions.

People were encouraged to strictly follow the message of wearing face masks, disinfection, keeping a safe distance from each other, not gathering in groups and performing health declaration.

The health sector should prepare plans to deal with different COVID-19 scenarios, PM Phuc said, asking localities to take measures to prevent the spread of the disease, ensure safety for the political and socio-economic events, and boost international trade exchange in the new normal.

Localities should be ready to create favorable conditions to accelerate the attraction of investment, especially from major partners, he stated.

The Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security and localities should continue to control and strictly handle illegal entry, PM Phuc ordered.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Planning and Investment were assigned to continue proposing other support packages for the pandemic-affected subjects, especially the unemployed and underemployed workers./.
