One more Indian expert tests positive for COVID-19

VGP – A 35-year old male expert from India has become the latest COVID-19 patient in Viet Nam, the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control said minutes ago.

The Indian national, who works in the northern province of Vinh Phuc, landed at the HCMC Tan Son Nhat International Airport on October 6 on flight 6E9471 from India.

He first tested negative on October 7 and began to experience fever and headache on October 10.

He was confirmed positive for the virus after the second test on October 11 and has been treated at HCMC Hospital for Tropical Diseases.

Earlier, six passengers onboard the flight 6E9471 had been confirmed contracting COVID-19.

So far, Viet Nam has reported 1,110 cases of COVID-19, including 1,025 recoveries and 35 fatalities.

The nation is placing 16,160 people under quarantine and medical surveillance, of whom 282 at hospitals, 13,331 at concentrated facilities, and 2,547 at places of residence, according to the National Steering Committee led by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam./.
