French expert among six new imported COVID-19 cases in VN

VGP – A French expert and five Vietnamese people repatriated from Russia became Viet Nam’s latest cases of COVID-19, bringing the patient tally to 1,140.

Specifically, patient 1,135 is a 40-year-old man from Quan Chu Commune, Dai Tu District, Thai Nguyen Province.

He landed at Van Don International Airport in Quang Ninh Province on October 16 on Viet Nam Airlines flight VN5062 from Russia and quarantined in Ninh Binh Province.

He had his sample collected and tested for COVID-19 upon arrival and the testing result confirmed he is positive for the virus.

He is being treated at a hospital in Hoa Lu District, Ninh Binh Province.

Patient 1,136 is a 32-year-old French woman who works in Ho Chi Minh City.

She flew from Dubai, the United Arab Emirates to Ho Chi Minh City on October 17 and her testing result done by HCMC Center for Disease Control showed she is positive for the virus.

She is being treated at the city’s Cu Chi field hospital.

Patients numbered from 1,137 to 1,140 shared the same flight with patient 1,135 but they were sent to a concentrated quarantine camp in Nam Dinh Province.

Patient 1,137 is a 26-year-old woman from Yen Bac Ward, Duy Tien Town, Ha Nam Province.

Patient 1,138 is a 22-year-old man from Bo De Ward, Long Bien District, Ha Noi.

Patient 1,139 is a 40-year-old man from Cam Binh Ward, Cam Pha city, Quang Ninh Province.

Patient 1,140 is a 36-year-old man from Cong Thanh Commune, Yen Thanh District, Nghe An Province.

The above four patients are being treated at the Nam Dinh General Hospital.

The same day, 15 COVID-19 patients were declared free of the virus, raising the total recoveries to 1,046.

So far, Viet Nam has reported 35 COVID-19 fatalities, including 31 in the central city of Da Nang, three in Quang Nam and one in Quang Tri./.

Today marks the 47th straight day Viet Nam has gone without a single community infection./.
