Indian woman tests positive for COVID-19 in VN

VGP – A 29-year-old woman from India was confirmed positive for COVID-19 in Viet Nam, bringing the patient tally to 1,141.

She is spouse of COVID-19 patient numbered 1,125.

The latest patient flew from India to Ho Chi Minh City on October 6 and the outcome of her second COVID-19 test released on October 19 showed that she is positive for the virus.

She is being treated at the city’s Cu Chi field hospital.

Of the nation’s patient tally, 1,046 have recovered and exited hospitals with 35 others have been reported dead, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

Though the pandemic has been brought under control, the Government called on authorities at all levels and citizens to continue staying vigilance against COVID-19 as winter nears.

Addressing a meeting on COVID-19 response on Monday afternoon, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc demanded serious implementation of measures to prevent the re-emergence of COVID-19.

He also required strict management of quarantine sites and hotels designated as paid quarantine facilities as well as strict border control to prevent illegal entrants.

Dwellers in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City are requested to wear mask while staying outdoors and on public transport means while all localities have to disseminate necessary instructions on how to properly wear masks and wash hands./.
