Eight more COVID-19 cases confirmed, patient tally rises to 1,168

VGP – Eight Vietnamese citizens repatriated from France, Angola and the US became the latest cases of COVID-19 this afternoon.

Patients from 1,161 to 1,164 flew from France to Ho Chi Minh City on October 21 and were quarantined in the Mekong Delta province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

Patient 1,161 is a 42-year-old woman from Tieu Can District, Tra Vinh Province.

Patient 1,162 is a 33-year-old man from Dong Da District, Ha Noi.

Patient 1,163 is a 40-year-old woman from Dong Da District, Ha Noi.

Patient 1,164 is a 47-year-old woman from Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa Province.

They are being treated at a medical center in Ba Ria-Vung Tau’s Long Dien District.

Patients from 1,165 to 1,167 took flight VN8 with their mothers from Angola to Quang Ninh Province on October 20 and were quarantined in a concentrated camp in Tan Yen District, Bac Giang Province.

Two of them are one-year old son and five-year-old daughter of patient numbered 1,159 while the other is one-year-old son of patient 1,157.

They are being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh District.

Patient 1,168 is a 64-year-old man from Mang Thit District, Vinh Long Province.

He was brought home from the US on October 23 after transiting in the Republic of Korea.

The patient is being treated at a general clinic in Quang Nam Province.

With these latest cases, the patient tally rose to 1,168, including 1,057 recoveries and 35 fatalities./.
