Two more Indian nationals confirmed positive for Covid-19

VGP – Two Indian nationals and two Vietnamese repatriated from the Czech Republic were confirmed positive for Covid-19 in Viet Nam on Tuesday, raising the patient tally to 1,316.

Patients 1,313 and 1,314 are natives of the Mekong Delta province of Vinh Long.

They flew from the Czech Republic to Can Tho City on flight QH9062 on November 22 and were quarantined in Vinh Long Province.

These patients are being treated at the Vinh Long Hospital for Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases.

Patients 1,315 and 1,316 are Indian experts who landed at the Noi Bai International Airport in Ha Noi on November 20.

They are being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh District.

The same day, two more patients were declared free of the virus, bringing the total recoveries to 1,153.

Though Viet Nam has gone 83 days without a single local infection, Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long warned of high infection risk as the number of infection cases has surpassed 59 million around the world.

Over the past few days Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, who is head of the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control conducted tours to Quang Ninh, Long An and Dong Nai to inspect the implementation of preventive measures.

During these tours, he urged local authorities to sustain vigilance and seriously implement measures to ensure absolute safety for the public, especially at hospitals and schools./.
