Three South African nationals among 12 new Covid-19 cases

VGP – Viet Nam confirmed 12 new cases of Covid-19 on Sunday, raising the patient tally to 1,494.

The latest patients include three South African nationals, according to the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control led by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam.

Specifically, patient 1483 is a 43-year-old South African woman.

Patient 1484 is a 73-year-old South African woman.

Patient 1485 is a 12-year-old South African boy.

All of them took flight QH976 from South Africa to Ha Noi on December 31.

They are being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh District.

Patient 1486 is a 54-year-old woman in Ha Noi’s Dong Da District.

Patient 1487 is a 69-year-old man in Ha Noi’s Dong Da District.

They were brought home from Mexico, transiting in France, to Quang Ninh on flight VN18 on December 31.

They are being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh District.

Patient 1488 is a 51-year-old man in Ho Chi Minh City’s Go Vap District.

Patient 1489 is a 17-year-old girl in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 7.

Patient 1490 is a 20-year-old man in Ha Noi’s Tay Ho District.

Patient 1491 is a 40-year-old man in Ngo Quyen District, Hai Phong City.

Patient 1492 is a 28-year-old woman in Ha Noi’s Hoang Mai District.

Patient 1493 is a 53-year-old man in Bo Trach District, Quang Binh Province.

Patient 1494 is a 43-year-old man in Quang Ngai city, Quang Ngai Province.

They flew from from the U.S. to the Republic of Korea and took flight VN440 to the south central province of Khanh Hoa on January 1, 2020 and were quarantined in Phu Yen Province.

These above patients are being treated at the Phu Yen General Hospital.

The same day, two more patients were declared free of Covid-19, bringing the total recoveries to 1,339.

The nation is placing 18,743 under medical surveillance and quarantine. Of these 160 are kept at hospitals, 17,008 at concentrated quarantine sites, and 1,575 at places of residence./.
