Indian expert among two new COVID-19 cases

VGP – An Indian expert and Vietnamese repatriated from Japan became latest cases of COVID-19 on Friday, taking the patient tally to 1,548.

Specifically, patient 1547 is a 52-year-old Indian man who flew from India to Ho Chi Minh City on January 19 after transiting in the United Arab Emirates.

He is being treated at the provincial General Hospital in the Mekong Delta province of Long An.

Patient 1548 is a 27-year-old man in Lang Bien Commune, Thap Muoi District of Dong Thap Province.

He took flight VJ8650 from Japan to Ho Chi Minh City on January 20.

The patient is being treated at the city’s Cu Chi field hospital.

As many as 1,411 COVID-19 patients have recovered and exited hospitals and 35 others have been reported dead to date./.
