Nine community cases of COVID-19 take tally to 1,891

VGP – Nine new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed Wednesday morning, raising the national tally to 1,891, according to the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.

All the latest patients are local infections in four localities (two in Hai Duong, one in Ha Noi, four in Gia Lai and two in Binh Duong).

Of the country tally's 1,003 are community infection cases, including 310 reported since January 27, 2021.

In a bid to contain the spread of the pandemic, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc stressed the need to strengthen the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic with strong and timely measures and constant vigilance, while addressing the Cabinet meeting on Tuesday.

The Ministry of Health called on citizens to cooperate with the Government in order to help quickly stamp out the third wave of COVID-19 as up to 20% of people tested positive for COVID-19 (F0) did not cooperate with competent authorities and hundreds of F1 (individuals who have been in close contact with F0) did not report emergency situation themselves./.
