Viet Nam reports five new COVID-19 cases

VGP - Viet Nam confirmed five new infection cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, taking the national tally to 1,980.

The latest patients include four local infections in Bac Ninh, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong and Quang Ninh.

The other is a 29-year-old Vietnamese repatriated from Japan on flight VJ7139 on January 2.

The same day, three patients were declared free of the virus and exited hospitals, bringing the total recoveries to 1,468.

The third wave of community transmissions began on January 27 in Hai Duong and Quang Ninh and has spread to other 10 cities and provinces with 394 cases reported./.
