Gov't chief asks for drastic measures against bird flu outbreaks

VGP – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has ordered localities to take drastic measures to prevent and control bird flu and A/H5N1 and A/H5N6 outbreaks.

Since the beginning of this year, 14 cities and provinces have reported 40 bird flu outbreaks, prompting them to cull over 100,000 poultry to contain the spread of bird flu.

Despite the efforts, the risk for the outbreaks to spread on a larger scale is “very high”, the Government chief warned./.
