Agro-forestry-fishery exports grow by 16.6% in first two months |
Between January-February, Viet Nam reported the export revenue of about US$3.14 billion in the group of key agricultural products (up 19% year-on-year), US$52 million in the group of husbandry (up 13.8%), over US$1 billion in the group of aquatic products (up 0.7%), and more than US$2.6 billion in the group of key wooden items (up 50.1%).
Many products registered high export turnover during the period, such as rubber (US$516 million, up 9.9%), tea (US$29 million, up 11.1%), cashew nuts (US$442 million, up 21.5%), vegetables and fruits (US$610 million, up 14.6%), cinnamon (US$32 million, up 18.1%), timber and wood products (US$2.44 billion, up 51%), and bamboo and rattan (US$128 million, up 43%).
The US remained the largest market of Vietnamese agro-forestry-fishery products with US$2.04 billion, up 57.3% year-on-year and accounting for 33.05% of the market share.
It was followed by China with US$1.88 million (up 57.9% and 30.53% of market share), ASEAN with US$606 million (up 25.2% and 9.82% of market share), the EU with US$594 million, Japan with US$573 million (up 15.5%), and the Republic of Korea with US$410 million (up 18%).
In February alone, Viet Nam’s agro-forestry-fishery exports hit approximately US$2.78 billion, up 3% over the same period last year.
Of the figure, US$1.35 billion came from the group of key agricultural products (up 19.8%), US$26 million from the husbandry group (up 26.9%), and over US$1.17 million from the group of key wooden items (up 40.7%).
