Viet Nam confirms six new local COVID-19 cases

VGP – Viet Nam confirmed six new community infection cases on Thursday, raising the national caseload to 2,488.

All the latest cases were recorded in Hai Duong’s Kim Thanh District, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

Among the national tally, 879 cases have been reported in 13 cities and provinces since January 27, 2021, in which Hai Duong is hit hardest with 695 cases, followed by Quang Ninh (61), Ho Chi Minh (36), Ha Noi (34), Gia Lai (27), Binh Duong (six), Bac Ninh (five), Hai Phong (four), Dien Bien (three), Hung Yen (three), Bac Giang (two), Hoa Binh (two), and Ha Giang (one).

Ten of the above cities and provinces have gone 19 days without a single locally-transmitted cases, namely Hoa Binh, Dien Bien, Ha Giang, Binh Duong, Hung Yen, Bac Giang, Gia Lai, Bac Nin, Quang Ninh and Ho Chi Minh City.

The capital city ò Ha Noi has recorded zero new case over the past 16 days.

The same day, 22 patients were declared free of the virus, bringing the total recoveries to 1,920./.
