Korean Man Among 13 New COVID-19 Cases

VGP – Viet Nam confirmed 13 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, raising the national patient tally to 2,507.

The latest patients include 12 in Hai Duong – the country’s biggest COVID-19 hotspot with 706 community infection cases recorded since January 27, 2021.

The other case is a 42-year-old man from the Republic of Korea.

He landed at the Noi Bai International Airport on February 19, tested positive for COVID-19 on March 5 and is being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh District.

Of the national caseload, 1,920 have recovered and exited hospitals while 35 others have been reported dead.

Viet Nam is placing 49,565 people under medical surveillance and quarantine nationwide, with 1,290 being kept at hospitals, 14,199 at concentrated quarantine sites, and the rest at places of residence.

The country planned to start COVID-19 vaccinations next Monday./.
