100 tons of lychees to be exported to Australia

The Viet Nam Trade Office in Australia has worked with local farm produce importers to bring Vietnamese lychees to the Aussi market.

The Trade Office will continue to deploy a scheme to develop a brand and promote the consumption of Vietnamese lychees in Australia over the course of this year.

This will be done by strengthening trade connectivity and sending inspection teams to remove difficulties relating to import procedures in the Australian market.

In addition, it has also proposed that local authorised agencies assist it in speeding up customs procedures for Vietnamese lychees.

Along with a program to build national trademarks and promote lychee exports to Australia, the office has assigned officials to respond to requests for support in dealing with import procedures, via huongtvau@gmail.com or huongnt@moit.gov.vn.

To introduce Vietnamese lychee to Australian consumers, the Viet Nam Trade Office will invite potential importers, store owners and customers to try newly imported lychees from Viet Nam.

In addition to the traditional advertising forms such as placing advertising billboards in crowded areas, the office will also advertise Vietnamese fresh lychee on social networks, on the Viet-Aus Trade application, which has just been officially put into use, and organize a contest to spread Vietnamese lychee advertising on social networks.

These marketing campaigns will focus on young people to build a long-term and high potential customer base for Viet Nam’s fresh lychee. At the same time, the office will also receive feedback from consumers, especially information about importers and stores, to develop the network.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, despite the impact of COVID-19 on transportation activities, lychee exports to Australia in 2020 still rose 188% compared to 2019.
