Forty-two new COVID-19 cases take national tally to 13,989

VGP – The Ministry of Health (MoH) confirmed five imported cases and 37 domestic infections on Thursday morning, bringing the national caseload to 13,989.

The imported cases are Vietnamese nationals repatriated from Russia (four) and Malaysia (one).  

All the others are domestic cases recorded in Ho Chi Minh City (26), Thai Binh (three), Bac Giang (three), Tay Ninh (two), Long An (two), Khanh Hoa (one). Of these 28 cases were detected at quarantine camps or lockdown downs.

Among the national patient tally, 12,264 are locally-transmitted cases, including 10,694  reported in 43 cities and provinces since April 27 when the fourth wave of COVID-19 resurgence began.

The ministry also said 5,684 patients have been given the all-clear so far, while the death toll was 70./.
