Ninety-seven new COVID-19 cases added to national caseload

VGP – The Ministry of Health has confirmed 97 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday morning, bringing the national tally to 15,740.

All the new cases are domestic infections in HCMC (62), Phu Yen (ten), Nghe An (nine), Long An (six), Lang Son (two), Quang Ninh (two), Bac Giang (two) of whom 94 cases were detected in quarantine camps or lockdown areas.

As of early June 28, Viet Nam reported 13,971 domestically-transmitted cases and 1,769 imported ones. Among the domestic cases, 12,401 have been recorded in 48 cities and provinces since April 27 when the fourth wave of COVID-19 resurgence broke out.

As many as 14 out of the aforesaid localities have gone 14 days with zero community transmission namely Yen Bai, Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue, Tuyen Quang, Son La, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Thai Nguyen, Bac Lieu, Dien Bien, Dak Lak, Vinh Phuc, Hai Duong and Phu Tho. Ten localities have recorded no new secondary infections including Hoa Binh, Nam Dinh, Quang Nam, Tra Vinh, Bac Kan, Gia Lai, An GIang, Kien Giang, Khanh Hoa, and Can Tho./.
