COVID-19 patient tally surpasses 16,000

VGP – Viet Nam recorded 145 new COVID-19 cases, taking the national patient tally to 16,041.

The number of daily new COVID-19 cases from June 10 to June 28

The latest patients include six Vietnamese returnees, of whom four entered the country via the Moc Bai and Khanh Binh international border gates in the southern provinces of Tay Ninh and An Giang, respectively, one via La Lay international border gate in the central province of Quang Tri, and one was repatriated from Japan.

All the others are domestic cases in 12 localities, namely Ho Chi Minh City (62), Quang Ngai (20), Bac Gaing (12), Dong Nai (11), Binh Duong (8), Bac Ninh (8), Ha Tinh (7), Binh Thuan (6), Hung Yen (2), Hai Phong (1), Dong Thap (1), and Dak Lak (1). Of these, 109 were reported in quarantine camps or lockdown areas.

The ministry also announced 200 patients were declared free of the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 6,519.

The death toll stood at 76./.
