Health ministry reports 3,657 new COVID-19 cases, 3,704 recoveries

VGP – The Ministry of Health confirmed 3,657 new infection cases this evening, taking the COVID-19 count on Friday to 8,649.

The latest patients include 22 imported cases while the rest are domestic infections in Ho Chi Minh City (1,542), Binh Duong (636), Long An (448), Dong Nai (157), Can Tho (151), Khanh Hoa (139), Ba Ria-Vung Tau (133), Ha Noi (81), Dong Thap (67), Da Nang (65), Tra Vinh (36), Hau Giang (28), Phu Yen (23), Ben Tre (18), Binh Thuan (17), An Giang (16), Quang Nam (13), Binh Phuoc (12), Ninh Thuan (11), Vinh Phuc (9), Dak Lak (8 ), Gia Lai (6), Quang Ngai (6), Ha Tinh (5), Dak Nong (2), Hoa Binh (2), Lam Dong (1), Thanh Hoa (1), Hai Duong (1), Bac Ninh Ninh (1).

Of the domestic infections, 715 cases were detected in the community.

With these new cases, Viet Nam’s national caseload rose to 137,062, of which 2,235 are imported cases and 134,827 are locally transmitted cases.

The same day, as many as 3,704 patients were discharged from hospitals, bringing the total recoveries to 35,484, the ministry said.

Among the current positive cases, 411 are being treated at intensive care units, of whom 21 are in critical health conditions, added the ministry.

It also reported that there were 139 fatalities related to COVID-19 in nine cities and provinces between July 16-30, sending the country’s death toll to 1,161./.
