11,434 new COVID-19 cases added to national tally

VGP – The Ministry of Health confirmed 11,434 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, raising the national patient tally to 473,530.

The latest patients consist of five imported cases and 11,429 domestic infections in 39 cities and provinces, namely Ho Chi Minh City (5,368), Binh Duong (3,440), Dong Nai (759), Long An (594), Tien Giang (194), Khanh Hoa (112), Kien Giang (106), Quang Binh (103), Tay Ninh (85), Dong Thap (75), An Giang (70), Nghe An (57), Da Nang (55), Binh Thuan (53), Ha Noi (51), Can Tho (42), Ba Ria-Vung Tau (29), Phu Yen (23), Soc Trang (20), Dak Lak (20), Quang Tri (20), Tra Vinh (18), Quang Ngai (18), Thua Thien-Hue (17), Ben Tre (17), Binh Dinh (15), Son La (12), Nam Dinh (10), Vinh Long (7), Ca Mau (6), Ninh Thuan (6), Hau Giang (5), Gia Lai (4), Lang Son (4), Bac Lieu (4), Quang Nam (3), Bac Ninh (3), Dak Nong (3), and Ha Tinh (3).  

Of the domestic cases, 6,759 were detected in the community.

The same day, the ministry reported 9,862 new recoveries, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 248,722.

Among the current positive cases, 6,334 are in critical conditions.

It also announced 433 further fatalities, taking the death toll to 11,868, accounting for 2.5 percent of the total confirmed cases.

To date, Viet Nam has received 29 million vaccine doses from various sources, including 19 million AstraZeneca doses, over 5 million Moderna doses, 1.2 million Pfizer doses, 12,000 Sputnik-V doses, and 2.5 million Sinopharm doses.

The Southeast Asian country has administered 17,483,818 vaccine doses, with 2,726,563 people fully vaccinated./.
