The event was jointly organized by the USAID, the People's Committee of Quang Tri Province and the National Action Center for Toxic Chemicals and Environmental Treatment (NACCET).

The project on improving the quality of life of people with disabilities in provinces heavily sprayed with Agent Orange has funding of over US$6.9 million while the project on strengthening opportunities and enhancing the position of people with disabilities has funding of US$2 million.

These projects are within the framework of the bilateral economic and technical cooperation agreement between the two governments signed in 2005.

Over last 30 years, the U.S. Government has contributed more than US$125 million in assistance to persons with disabilities in Viet Nam.

USAID has a robust portfolio of activities working across eight provinces heavily sprayed with Agent Orange (Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam, Binh Dinh, Dong Nai, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh, and Kon Tum), covering a variety of services for persons with disabilities.
