Around 103.4 million vaccine doses to land in Viet Nam by this year's end

VGP - Viet Nam will receive additional 103.4 million COVID-19 vaccine doses by this year's end, Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long said on Saturday at a meeting of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

The Southeast Asian country has received 34 million doses, of which more than 27 million doses have been admnistered, Nguyen added.

The ministry has been working with vaccine suppliers to secure sufficient vaccines for everyone aged 5 and over, and to offer booster shots in 2022 in line with the guidance of the World Health Organization, Nguyen underscored.

Regarding the pandemic situation, the minister said 338,000 COVID-19 patients have recovered, representing 59 percent of the national caseload, while the death rate has dipped significantly.

Localities, especially Ho Chi Minh and Ha Noi have stepped up mass testing to detect and separate infected cases from the community./.
