Gov’t pledges to stand side by side with enterprises amid COVID-19 pandemic time

VGP – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asserted that the Vietnamese Government commits to offering all possible support for the business community to restore production while ensuring pandemic prevention and control.

The Vietnamese Government leader made the point on September 14 in Ha Noi during a meeting with Korean Ambassador Park Noh-wan and Korean business representatives in Viet Nam. 

Pham expressed his gratitude to the Korean Government and people for supporting Viet Nam in the fight against COVID-19 and praised Korean firms for joining hands with Viet Nam in actively combating the pandemic and continuing to do long-term business in the country.

As the Government considers businesses’ success as Viet Nam’s success, the Government has deployed a string of drastic measures to control the pandemic, including formulation of a special working group to resolve business difficulties and issuance of Resolution 105/NQ-CP on supporting businesses. 

“Pandemic is a global issue which requires a global approach as no one is safe while others remain infected with COVID-19, and no nation is safe while others still have to grapple with the virus,” the Prime Minister said.

Pham stressed that safety from the pandemic is not something taken for granted but a result of efforts by every individual, agency, unit and business and the whole society.

He asked Korean enterprises to contribute to promoting the Viet Nam-RoK strategic partnership for mutual benefits, maintain the position as one of the top investors in Viet Nam, and raise localization rate of Korean products in the Southeast Asian country. 

Earlier, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had a working session with the ambassador, the head of the delegation of the European Union (EU), the ambassadors of the EU countries, the European Business Association (Eurocham) and some European corporations and enterprises in Viet Nam as part of his effort learn about and resolve difficulties faced by the business community in the context of the COVID-19 epidemic.

The Prime Minister also visited Samsung Electronics Viet Nam Thai Nguyen Co. Ltd. during a working trip to the northern province of Thuyen on September 3./.
