President Nguyen also thanked Japan for having decided to gift Viet Nam with additional 400,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses, raising the total vaccine donations to 3.58 million doses.
He affirmed Viet Nam will continue to stand side by side with business community, including Japanese investors to restore production and maintain supply chain.
Nguyen took the occasion to congratulate Japan on successful organization of the Olympic and Paralympic Tokyo 2020 – the symbol of solidarity to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic.
Japanese PM Suga said his country will continue assistance for Viet Nam’s fight against the pandemic.
Suga thanked Viet Nam for giving vaccines to Japanese nationals and supporting Japanese businesses in the Southeast Asian country.
He asked Nguyen to convey his greetings to Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and other senior Vietnamese leaders./.
