Gov’t to purchase 10 million doses of Cuba’s COVID-19 vaccine

VGP – The Government has issued Resolution No. 109/NQ-CP dated September 20 on purchase of 10 million doses of Abdala COVID-19 vaccine developed by the Cuban Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology.

The purchase of the vaccine will be carried out in accordance with Article 26 of the Bidding Law.

The Ministry of Health is responsible for the purchase of the vaccine.

Abdala becomes the eighth foreign COVID-19 vaccine approved for emergency use in Viet Nam aside from the U.K.’s AstraZeneca, the U.S.’s Johnson & Johnson, Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech, Russia’s Sputnik V, China’s Sinopharm and the UAE’s Hayat-Vax.

Last week, the Government decided to supplement budget to the Ministry of Health to procure 19,998,810 doses of BNT162 vaccine made by Pfizer./.
